About the Gallery's Guest Artists

Gary Gresham

Born in California, Gary grew up in quaint Texas town. Gary is the son of an artist mother and a merchant seaman father. As a child, Gary’s life was filled with interesting and wonderful objects his father collected in travels from all over the world.

Gary has attended numerous art classes and continues his education with an ever-present determination to refine his art. He has studied under the tutelage of World Champion Carver- Dennis Schroeder. His personal aspiration is to become a world champion carver himself. Through out the years, Gary’s work has been greatly influenced by his time spent in the bayous, marshes, and forests. Exploring, observing and drawing inspiration from our natural world first hand, he continually recognizes the quiet beauty and innocence in nature and its wildlife.

Gary works with many various medias that include steel, leather, scrimshaw, pen & ink, tattoo, acrylic, wood, oil, pastels, and stone. Most recently he has taken an interest in silver & stone and the fine art of jewelry making.

His carvings have won numerous awards including “Best of Show” in international competitions across the States. Gary’s artwork and steel installations can be found in many locations and collections through out the country.

Did I mention his handy work with the chainsaw? Gary has been and is currently enjoying the world of chainsaw art. His bears and eagles are quite the talk of the town! They are unique and bring much joy to those lucky enough to have them!
